Our friends at Inspired Summit Adventures own and operate the Castle Peak Yurt and Smith & Morehouse Yurt as part of the Western Uinta Hut System, Utah's first and only four-season backcountry hut system.
The yurts offer the perfect staging ground for multi-day trips into the vast wilderness of the Uinta Mountains for both summer and winter adventures. You’ll travel deep into the forest and find complete solitude—without having to “rough it” when it’s time to kick back and relax at the end of the day.
Acommodations & Amenities
Both yurts comfortably sleep up to 9 guests and include:
A wood-burning stove
A 3-burner propane stove
Kitchen utensils and flatware
Cozy sleeping arrangements – bunk beds to sleep up to 9 guests

Summer: Once the snow melts, the yurt transforms into a perfect basecamp for hiking, mountain biking, and paddleboarding. Winter: During the snowy months, the Castle Peak Yurt becomes a haven for backcountry skiers and snowboarders. Its prime location offers access to untouched powder, making it an ideal base after a day of exhilarating descents. Guests can unwind by the fire, enjoy a chef-prepared meal, or relax in the cedar barrel sauna.
Smith & Morehouse Yurt
Situated at 7,800 feet near the picturesque Smith & Morehouse Reservoir, this yurt offers an ideal basecamp for your adventures in the Uinta Mountains.
