Castle Peak Yurt Camping
The Castle Peak Yurt is available year-round for nightly rentals. Located approximately 30 miles outside of Park City, it is nestled just below Castle Peak, deep in the wilderness of the Uinta Mountains.
The yurt comfortably sleeps up to eight people on bunk beds with camp-style mattresses provided. You'll want to bring your own sleeping bags or blankets, keeping in mind that even during the summer months temperatures in the Uintas can drop to as low as 30 degrees Fahrenheit. No dogs are allowed at the yurt, so please plan to leave Fido at home.
Cook your favorite camping meals on the three-burner gas stove using the pots, pans, and utensils from the Yurt (just please wash them before you leave.) And after a long day of adventuring, fire up the wood-burning sauna and soothe your tired muscles.
With a woodstove for heating, a solar-powered lighting system to save your batteries, and an outhouse onsite, the Castle Peak Yurt is designed to be your home away from home. Or at the very least, a real cushy campsite setup.
Please call White Pine Touring 435-649-8710 for more information.
Getting to the Yurt
The Yurt can be accessed with a high-clearance 4x4 vehicle during the summer, an hour of snowmobiling during the winter, or by using the power of your own legs year-round. Just keep in mind, whether you’re hiking, snowshoeing, or skiing to the Yurt, the trip requires a 2,000 foot elevation gain and complete self-reliance. But think of how much sweeter it will feel when you get there!
The Yurt’s lock combination and directions to the yurt are only provided once you have completed your reservation and signed the Liability Waiver.
What to Bring
The Yurt may be pretty plush in terms of accommodations compared to tent camping, but there is still plenty of gear you’ll need to bring along to ensure a safe, comfortable stay. Being properly prepared is key! Please carefully review our Things to Bring to the Yurt document, and make sure you know how to pack for your adventure.
Reservation & Cancellation Policy
The Yurt is a hot ticket. We recommend placing your reservation well in advance to ensure you get the exact dates you want. Once booked, you’ll have the Yurt to yourself – no shacking up with strangers required!
Reservations must be cancelled 10 or more days in advance in order to guarantee a full refund. For reservations cancelled within 10 days of your scheduled start date, we’ll do our best to fill the vacancy and help you get your money back. If we’re unable to rebook the Yurt during your scheduled reservation, we will not be able to issue a refund. We hope you understand.
To sign the waiver in advance, please print out our Release of Liability and Acknowledgement of Risks Agreement.
